Casa Italia: A Century-Old Italian Legacy in Natural Stone
Today, Casa Italia continues to share this Italian stone expertise in Ghana, honoring the standards set by Antonio Crescini.
From Ancient Traditions to Industrial Innovation
Our story began in the historic district of Sant’Ambrogio di Valpolicella, Verona—a region famous for its marble since Roman times. Our great-grandfather, Valentino Crescini, was a pioneer in the field. Alongside one other local family, the Crescinis were the first to evolve marble production from traditional stonemasonry into a modern industrial process, setting the standard for excellence that defines us today.
The Legacy of Antonio Crescini: Pure Italian Stone Expertise
This deep-rooted knowledge allows us to provide the best Italian stone expertise in Ghana today. Following in his father’s footsteps, Antonio Crescini founded Antonio Marmi in Pescantina, along the banks of the Adige River. He transformed the business into a 360-degree production hub, managing everything from raw block cutting to finished luxury tiles and custom kitchen countertops. Under his leadership, the company successfully conquered the demanding German market, establishing a reputation for uncompromising quality.
Third Generation: Automation and International Reach
In the 1970s, Andrea and Laura joined the family business, blending decades of traditional knowledge with cutting-edge technology, including the first automated marble production line. After Antonio’s passing in the early 1980s, the company expanded its horizons to the United States, Asia (South Korea and Japan), and the Middle East (Qatar and Israel), proving that Italian craftsmanship could meet the world’s most ambitious architectural demands.
Bringing Italian Stone Expertise to Ghana: Our Journey
Our connection with Africa began in the 2000s through prestigious projects like the US Embassies and developments in Egypt. However, our bond with Ghana is deeply personal. In January 2000, our family traveled to Ghana to meet our workers’ families in their hometowns. This human connection led Jacopo to officially establish Casa Italia in Ghana in 2013, bringing our century of expertise permanently to West Africa.
Local Production, Italian Quality: Our New Factory
Today, Casa Italia is a leader in Ghana’s luxury construction sector, with iconic projects in major cities. We are proud to announce that in 2026, we are launching our local production factory in Ghana, Art Stone Design. This milestone allows us to combine Italian machinery and specialized Italian installers with local resources, providing faster service and bespoke craftsmanship across the entire African continent.
Our Mission in West Africa
Our mission is to bridge the gap between ancient Italian tradition and the modern architectural landscape of West Africa. By providing unparalleled Italian stone expertise in Ghana, we aim to empower local architects and designers to create world-class spaces using materials of eternal beauty.
We don’t just supply stone; we share a culture of quality. Choosing the right natural stone involves more than just aesthetics; it requires a deep understanding of the material’s physical properties. Our Italian stone expertise in Ghana extends to a comprehensive consultancy service where we assist architects and developers in selecting the most suitable marble, granite, or quartzite for their specific application.
Whether it is a high-traffic commercial floor or a delicate decorative feature, we evaluate factors such as porosity, hardness, and vein direction. This meticulous selection process is rooted in our family’s history, ensuring that every slab used in a project across West Africa meets the same rigorous standards we have maintained for four generations. By combining technical data with our Italian stone expertise in Ghana, we ensure that your investment in natural stone remains beautiful and functional for decades to come.
